2ND BATCH OF RELIEF GOODS FOR 1,040 FAMILIES IN ZAPATERA, DELIVERED

Cebu City, Cebu – The Cebu Caritas Inc., the charitable arm of the Archdiocese of Cebu and the lead committee in the relief operations dubbed as Archbishop Teofilo Camomot Buhat sa Kaluoy, delivered the second batch of relief goods for 1,040 families in Sitio Zapatera, Brgy Luz.

Cebu Caritas Inc. was able to gather funds and goods from donors for the relief operations in close coordination with the Commission on the Laity and SACRED FORCES (Sustaining the Archdiocese of Cebu’s Charity, Resiliency, Empowerment and Development by Forming and Organizing Resilient Communities and Empowered Stewards).

Each relief pack contained 5 kilos of rice, 4 canned goods, 2 bars of bath soap, 6 sachets of shampoo, and 2 bottles of disinfectant alcohol. Also given were 1,440 bars of detergent soap for distribution.

On behalf of the Archdiocese of Cebu, Rev. Fr. Alex K. Cola, Jr. (director of Cebu Caritas Inc.) expressed his appreciation and gratitude to all the donors from various sectors of the society: businessmen, professionals, civic groups, lay organizations, religious groups, clergy and parishioners. “Salamat kaayo sa inyong kanunay nga suporta mga igsuon,” he said.
