Cebu City, Cebu (May 5) – In an effort to support the Cebu City Jail in its fight against COVID-19, which has affected jail guards and prisoners alike, the Archdiocese of Cebu once again delivered relief goods to the male and female dormitories of the said facility. Thanks to the continued operations of the Cebu Caritas Inc., Commission on the Laity, and the generous donors from various sectors of the society.
For the female dormitory, items given were: 1,040 bottles of disinfectant alcohol, 1,040 bars of bath soap, 25 (5gallons) mineral water, 100 pillows.
For the male dormitory, items given were: 6,600 bottles of disinfectant alcohol, 6,600 bars of bath soap, 25 (5 gallons) mineral water, 100 pillows.
Total cash donation
As of May 5, the Cebu Caritas Inc. and Commission on the Laity have received a total of ₱703,861.00 pesos of cash donations for Oplan City Jail. Minus ₱615,980.60 pesos for relief goods, the total cash available is ₱87,880.40 pesos.
For the Oplan Zapatera, the cash donations amounted to ₱1,016,394.00 pesos. Less expense of ₱659,167.20 pesos, the total cash available is ₱357,226.80 pesos.
