In a report on Friday (April 24), the Cebu City jail now has 147 cases of COVID19. It is not clear, however, if the cases involve inmates or staff of the facility.

Mrs. Fe Barino, chairperson of the Commission on the Laity, in an update of OPLAN CITY JAIL reported as of April 23 that 30,000 tablets of Vitamin C were given to the jail management to be distributed to the 6,600 inmates good for 5 days supply.

Still to be given any time soon are 14,000 washable face masks for the 6,600 inmates, and 200,000 Vitamin C tablets good for 30 days.

The Archdiocese of Cebu is open to receive donations in cash (to purchase Vitamin C at a volume price) or in kind like washable face masks, face shield, and personal protective equipment (PPE) for jail guards/frontliners.
